Bio: Professor Elphen is the head of Bertramus house and always has time to chat with his charges no matter how busy he is. He sings a lot, sometimes much to the dismay of his House since his voice is distracting, but it often breaks up arguments without him having to do anything more drastic. Despite also being the Director of the school choir (for which he is more well known than being a house head) he prizes academics.
He has a bit of a soft spot for anyone that has any special problems that set them apart from the rest of the school populace. What he admires most about David though is the boy's commitment to his potions studies. He is not aware of all David's adventures (though he would be more than game if invited to participate) but is well aware of the lad's condition and assists in the cover up allowing him to remain at the school...just as he assists with Kirsty's.
When it comes to Kirsty Professor Elphen on occasion gets irritated that she does not train her voice more and do more with voice magic, considering it an aspect of Kirsty's heritage that she would do well to master more. In his opinion it would go much farther in getting Morvan to stop bothering her if she'd just sing and dance him out the door.
