Bio: Etain gained her skin around the age of 16, a little late in the usual timeline of her forebears' attempts. It was a time of upheaval. She grew up knowing that not only would she be a water witch, but that she would inherit an important position as priestess to Mara and The Lady of the Well. She also grew up with a dislike of potion making, as it was a discipline that her own mother had been pushing her towards since the full selkies they always had to stand ready for could not be taken for medical treatment if there were severe illness.
She met Finnol in school, the only remaining patch of their bloodline left in Scotland, who was being raised by his aunt (a teacher at Castle Carrick). Both had been highly surprised by the shared (distant) lineage, and relieved to have someone that they could breathe their secrets to.
Her eventual husband's passion for environmentalism landed them jobs in an NGO that has different functions depending on which society one is looking at it from. Etain already would have been a minor member of this Order merely by being a waterwitch and her priestess position (which she accepted she'd never be able to run from), and she still has not figured out exactly how they ended up with their jobs.

Descendants: Etain and Finnol have had 11 children. Kirstin, Allan, Morvydd, Diedre, Fenise, Galiene, Gareth, Piranis, Taranis, Kiernan, and Justin. Only Kirsty remains, the others having either died soon after birth or been stolen, though there was one miscarriage that is known. It is unknown to them if the stolen children were eaten or transformed.
Quirks: She can cook wonderfully, but ask her to make a brew and it will be mediocre, even though they are related talents. She knits a lot when actually home.
Special: Wears an amulet that her mother bestowed on her when her firstborn child (Justin) was born.
