I have also added a Glossary page for the foreign words. I will update that whenever a new word is added to the story, and as I go through the manuscript while preparing it for the ebook and print versions. I like to include words that most readers might not know since one of my greatest joys as a child was learning a new word.
Selkies' Skins Chapter 25, part two is now available to read on Live Journal and Dreamwidth (please feel free to post comments and questions there if you wish) as well as here on the site.

One of the things going on for the Selkies stories will be a prequel to "Selkies' Skins." I'm calling it a prequel since I am expecting it to be a little long for a separate short story, but I definitely want it separate from the "Wavelets" group of stories in the universe that is shaping up.
You can check out my current rough idea, and feel free to comment here and leave suggestions as to what "myths" you'd like to see in the book within the book that good 'Father Ronan' collected for Kirsty to find centuries later. "Caught Between Wave and Cave" was one of three winners for Ollie Lambert's poetry contest.
http://ollielambert.wordpress.com/reviews/poetry-competition-winners/ The first part of Chapter 25: The Old Ones is now available to read on all three archives. What happens as Kirsty begins to move from one world to another?
We have five more chapters before we move into Section 3, which will take us through the two parts of Kirsty's Skinquest. I hope that when we get into that, the few readers that were disappointed about moving into the school part of Kirsty's life will see why I felt it was so important to experience the "human" part of her life first. Also, last night I found a picture on deviant art that very closely shows the most common way that Kirsty and David would be seeing Herne when they encounter his deity...whom one of their classmates knows as Kernnunos in a different aspect of the Woodland God. I have put a link to that with the entry on the main Characters page. |
