Have a read!
I've already gotten an interesting question asked to me privately about one detail... I'll post the question and answer in a few days. Feel free to ask more.

Yesterday it went up on Dreamwidth and Livejournal, today it goes up here on the Weebly site. While Kirsty was dreaming in the first installment of the chapter Morvan also was having a rough night of it. We now join Morvan, Imp, and one of the Cailleach's servants (a male nightmare/nightstallion). What does Imp find out on behalf of his mistress? When will he be able to relay that, or is this a bad time to burden Kirsty with more things to worry about?

I have uploaded a few more of the character pages for the story. You can see the list of characters as it stands here. Bear in mind that as I go I have new characters to add in, and some of the characters are less forthcoming about some information than others. I expect by the time the series is finished the blank spots on some sheets will be filled, whether or not the information appears in-story or not.
New pages: Banu Connor Gyre Hemming Gerwulf Imp Jonathin/Justin Mani Mrs. Kitsch The Corsantoir Thomas The Director I updated the glossary page for all the foreign words that will be in the text. I'm still combing through looking for any that I might have missed. I have also moved it from out of the Book One section and into the main Selkies tab since for now it will be easier to just put the words for all books into one page. This may change later as more books are written in Kirsty's skinquest and her family's adventures.
The first part of Chapter 29 (Dreams and Divinations) in book one of Selkies' Skins is now up and available to read.
I also do not know what has happened with the font on the site, and I don't have time right now to figure out how to get it back to Kingthings. "Song of the Water Keepers" from the prequel story "Book of Seals: Pearls of Sea and Stone" has been added to the Songs and Poetry page.
That story will be going on Smashwords toward the end of December. The full version of the first book of "Selkies' Skins" is still projected to go out in ebook and print in January. Book One is still being serialized here, so those that decide to buy the book will very likely get to finish reading before the full story is posted here. Work on Book Two and the sea-based part of the water trials and skinquest will be starting soon, as will work on Book Three in the "Dragon Shaman" series. Work on the stories will all have to be done in between university assignments though. If you want weekly releases I have to start seeing donations, sales, or reviews of other stories coming on. This story is scheduled to update here every two weeks with the possibility of an extra update in between those. Despite the strange pounding and inexplicably heavy things being dropped upstairs and bowing the ceiling over my bedroom desk alarmingly (and being grateful I'm on the bed on the other side of the room after seeing that) I just finalized Chapter 39 in the manuscript. This brings the first half of Kirsty's skinquest (and the complications/distractions she has going on) to 125,649 words. I am contemplating whether to leave book one at this chapter and pick up in book two, or whether I should do one more chapter to make it a round number. I rather like the idea of leaving this book at the number 39 though.
I have also transferred some of the poem songs from the released chapters of the story onto the page for those. I hadn't realized that I had forgotten to do so. School starts for me next Monday. Wish me luck with these last few classes for my current degree program. I'm going to need looots of luck and sanity with construction STILL going on around the complex. |
